Our Story
When you choose to work with Willow & Co, you become part of our family. That means we handle your transaction with love and care, and with the attention to detail it deserves. You aren’t a number on a spreadsheet to us, and we want to make sure you feel valued, heard, and clear on every aspect of your transaction.
Willow & Co grew out of a desire to transform the real estate buying and selling experience. I bought 3 homes before becoming a realtor, and I LOVED my real estate agents. I didn’t realize that not everyone had that experience, and that some people hired agents they wouldn’t choose to work with again!
At Willow & Co, our clients are the most important part of our business—and we strive to make sure you can feel that throughout the time you are working with us.
Our Team
Stephanie Sherman
I’m Stephanie, licensed broker in Oregon and Washington. I love a good story, and the story of how I came to be a realtor here is a long and somewhat unusual one! I am from Los Angeles, and grew up there with my mom and grandma and lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins nearby. We had a loud, boisterous family, with lots of shared holiday meals, cousin playdates on the weekends (though we didn’t call them that back then!) and just as much time outdoors as in.
At 17, I flew from the nest to attend college in New York City, and then stayed, enjoying a fun NYC life for 10 years. NYC was where I bought my first home, a 374 sq ft studio apartment on the 5th floor of a walk up building. I loved that apartment, and even more than that loved my agent (hi Susan!), but never thought of being a realtor myself.
In 2006 I left NYC to move to Portland and pursue a career in midwifery, which I absolutely loved on *almost* every level– except the part wherein babies are mostly born overnight! Along the way, I met and married my wife Katie, a native Portlander, and we had our first daughter in 2012. Soon after that I decided I needed a career change, and admittedly I took some time deciding what it would be. When I landed on real estate, it was like a light bulb went off. I love the intimacy and deep connections we make when finding someone their home, or helping sell (what is for most people) their largest asset. I left the birth center I had worked in for almost 10 years to pursue my real estate career, and it’s been a lovely fit. And happily, many of my midwifery clients became real estate clients, as did the midwives I worked with!
In 2018, Katie and I became certified foster parents, and since then have welcomed many children into our home, 4 of which have stayed and since been adopted by us! We moved out to the Argay Terrace neighborhood of Portland to have room for our large family, and a pool to enjoy as well. Helping people through their real estate journeys fills my cup, and I am so grateful to have a job I really love.
Madeline Hollands
I’m Madeline, licensed broker in Oregon. I was born & raised in NE Portland. I grew up in my great Grandmother’s home with my mom, dad & brother. I remember when our house went on the market in 2008 (by the realtor that I now share a wall with in our office- full circle!) we hid the flyers because we thought that would stop people from buying our home that we loved so much and didn’t want to leave. Flash forward, paper flyers are no more and I am creating my own flyers for our listings!
I have done my fair share of testing out different careers, all customer service facing, which I have known is my calling. Working with people and making connections is where I thrive. It started with handing out coffee at the crack of dawn for customers who’s orders I would memorize, to passing out Coca Cola on airplanes for Alaska Airlines passengers, to answering phone calls and making the Nordstrom customer experience golden. After I had enough people say “you’d be great in real estate!”, I made the decision to buckle down and pass that pesky test. After 2 years in real estate, destiny brought me to Stephanie with Willow & Co Realty. To be able to change the lives of my clients, family & friends through home ownership is what brings me joy. Our team makes all of this possible, for that I am thankful to be able to share that joy!
